This week, we will be having a surprise appearance from the band Lowdead.  Also expect a great performance from Patsy Gomez and Paul Arellano.  Los Cancioneros Del Valle will perform on the 26th of August, and Sage Larsen and Atomic Pork close the market on the 2nd of September.

Congratulations to Adrianna Cordova who sold baked goods at our last two markets to raise money for Fiesta Queen at the St. Joseph’s Parish.  We are happy to announce that she won and was crowned fiesta queen this Saturday!    Anyone interested in doing a fundraiser for a cause is welcome and encouraged to attend our market to raise funds.

The Antonito Saturday Night Choir will be performing at our next market this coming Friday. We are happy to announce the beginning of the 2011 La Jara Farmer’s Market!  The Market will begin Friday, July 29th and will end September 2nd.  The Market runs from 3-7pm and will be held this year on Broadway Street in front of the La Jara Town Hall.

We have some exciting performances from local artists with Lori Kester opening the market on the 29th of July,  Antonito’s Saturday Night Choir on the 5th of August, Jim Hargove on the 12th of August, Eric Shiveley and Patsy Gomez on the 19th of August, Solomon Lopez and Rose Vialpando on the 26th of August, and Sage Larsen and Atomic Pork closing the market on the 2nd of September.

Again we promise fresh and delicious foods from local producers, beautiful arts and crafts, great music, and lots of fun!  We hope to see you all there to support this important community function.  Our community will remain vibrant and strong with your support.

The sprinkling of rain nourished the enthusiasm of vendors and shoppers alike once the clouds left.  The market continued on with the same exuberance as the Valley sun.   With vibrant crafts and fresh foods being browsed and bought, county residents wandered from vendor to vendor giving life to the market.  The entertainment served a rhythmic pulse to pace the flow of the market.

The market of August 6th proved to be another success, despite the threat of storm.

This week, on August 6th, the market is back with musical guests: Los Cancioneros del Valle, and more opportunities to buy the freshest produce of the area.  Remember: “Buy Fresh, Buy Local”    Hope to see you there!

Everyone is getting geared up for another great season at the La Jara Farmer’s Market.  This year’s market promises to be better than last year with great vendors and performing artists.   We are adding a Little Sprouts Market and Play Booth where children under ten can come and sell their products and enjoy fun activities for free!

The first talented music group to play at the July 30th Farmers Market is the Grupo Antonito, also known as the Antonito Choir.  Other performers scheduled to play for the market include; Los Cancioneros del Valle (August 6), Atomic Pork (August 13), the High Valli Swingers (August 13th), Jim Hargrove, “The Walking Man” (August 20), Lonard Quintana (August 30) and closing the market on Sept. 3rd will be the WMD Jazz Group September a special performance by Ann Huffaker’s Children Ensemble.

The featured artist for the market is Sage Larson, a Sanford local who covers many great songs from country artists like Tanya Tucker and Alison Krauss.
